Recently, I have noticed a heated debate brewing in the design world.
The Duvet vs. The Coverlet
I decided to weigh in on the topic out of sheer love for my Duvet.
Underneath my duvet is the warmest, coziest place on Earth.
No matter what the day brings,
I know I get to go there every night.
I can make my bed in less than 30 seconds. One shake of the down comforter, a couple karate chops to the pillows, and it actually looks good.
The new theory is that the Duvet is sloppy and bulky.
The Coverlet is more tailored and streamlined.
However, could your Baby be this comfortable on a coverlet?
All things considered, my vote is for the Duvet. I can't imagine life without it.

I love my duvet. It did take me a bit to get used to it being bulky but I love it now. When I redecorate my room I plan to get another duvet, I just can't go back now. :)
ReplyDeleteLove your blog! I found you yesterday and I think I read all the way to the beginning. I am a total duvet fan. Love, love, love mine. It makes our bed so soft and cozy that I just can't imagine getting rid of it. In the summer we do sleep with a light quilt instead because our room is hot. We have a lighter weight duvet and I like the messy, puffy look when the bed is made. Looks so inviting.
ReplyDeleteI'm pretty sure I love duvets the best, too, although I want a new one, and keep seeming to find coverlets instead!
ReplyDeleteHow blissful your baby looks.
ReplyDeleteI'm a coverlet kind of gal. If I could figure out how to get the duvet covers off and on easily, I may like them more. I am always in a sweat when I try to put them back on :(
I dont have a duvet however, we do have a very thick fluffy comforter and love it, so I can only imagine it being inside a duvet would be like sleeping under a cloud! Yes the coverlet is pretty but holds not ground to a duvet!
ReplyDeleteLove your blog, I am a new follower! Come check me out!!!

We are duvet lovers over here! You said it perfectly that it is a cozy retreat at the end of the day! I just can't imagine not having it billow around us!:)
ReplyDeleteI love my duvet! I do like the tailored look of a coverlet but with some things comfort wins over style! Yours looks beautiful!
ReplyDeleteI love my duvet and even though my bed doesn't look flat and tailored, it is always fluffy and confortable! By the way that picture of your baby is just precious! I miss when mine were that little! Enjoy those baby years!
ReplyDelete100% duvet all the way! I couldn't imagine life without it or the way my two kiddos love to snuggle in it on a Saturday morning. My daughter has a coverlet and I still put a duvet folded at the end of her bed. Gotta have one! fun post.
ReplyDeletehello! the duvet of course.......
ReplyDeleteI'd have to say I'm firmly on the Coverlet side! I like the crisp, clean simple look it give a room.
ReplyDeleteLove my duvet too! Nothing like getting in bed after a long day and just sinking into it. Your master bedroom is beautiful!
ReplyDeleteI just found your blog and I love it!!! I've got both...a coverlet and a duvet. :)

ReplyDeleteOh, and I have been wanting a duvet so so so badly. They look like the most comfy things in the world
Your bedroom is beautiful!
ReplyDeleteYour bedroom is so pretty, and I am with you I love my duvet especially in the winter. I use a coverlet in the spring and summer since I live in Florida or with my hot flashes I would be dying!! lol
ReplyDeleteBeing under a Duvet is truly the coziest and most wonderful place in the world!!
Blessings, Nellie
I like the look of a coverlet on the bed with a duvet folded at the end of the bed, best of both worlds and it gives a beautiful, layered look to the bed.
ReplyDeleteI'm definitely a duvet gal. I bought my first when we moved to Germany in 2000, and haven't turned away since.
ReplyDeleteI am SO glad you commented on my blog b/c now I get to come over and discover your bedroom!! As soon as I hit post I'm getting my hubby up here to see these pics! Our bedroom is also a chocolate brown w/ our bed between 2 windows and it looks about the same width. Seriously, almost identical. I've been trying to talk him into board & batten and he wasn't going for it, but your room is gorgeous!! Today we're putting beadbaord between the windows for a faux headboard. You'll have to come check out the pics when I post them!
ReplyDeleteLove your bedroom design!!! Can you tell me where you got your duvet from? I love the colors in it!! ahaynes05@yahoo.com
ReplyDeleteThanks!!

Love your duvet! I prefer the look of a duvet...but don't own one. However, I do have the same blue Euro shams and coverlet as you. Now I can envision what the duvet would look like. Thanks for the inspiration.
