We are having a Baby Shower my sister in a few weeks. I am trying to keep the decorations simple, elegant and not too baby-ish.
This project was so much fun. I constructed these Diaper Cakes in the color scheme of her nursery to use as the centerpiece...
I made my Cakes out of a 50 pack of Generic Diapers
(the expensive kind have colors and patterns on them, the cheap ones are solid white),
a pack of rubber bands,
satin ribbon,
and tissue paper.
Here is a really good tutorial on the Diaper Cake and here is one for the Tissue Flowers for anyone that's interested. Super simple, a little time consuming but worth it.
My 7 year son had this to say:
"Mom, I really like your project but, I wish we were having real cake".
I love how simple and elegant you made these!
ReplyDeleteAnd I collect milkglass cake plates, so I love those too!
Oh that is so cute. I'm involved with a shower next month. I'll have to remember this idea. :)
ReplyDeleteCome by for a Shabby Apple dress give away.
Wow! yours turned out beautiful! My friends made one for a shower we hosted and it was really cute too! Check it out:)

Just perfect and I like the simplicity. Boy if pampers only knew they get no free advertising for patterned diapers.
ReplyDeleteThose always make such a nice Shower gift. Yours look beautiful too!
ReplyDeleteYou did a beautiful job! So gorgeous!
