Holiday Home Series: Christmas Dining Room On A Dime

Welcome back to The Holiday Home Series.

Today, I took the day off to stay home with a sick little one.  Between the bright, sunny day we were blessed with and time on my hands, I got a little camera happy in our Christmas Dining Room...

Over the next few days, I will break down each project to show how this room was decorated on a dime...literally.

Every element shown here was either a thrift shop,

 discount store,

or Dollar Tree find.

By mixing new with old,

real with faux,

and a little of the unexpected,

I was able to create a semi formal dinner setting

for the Holidays

without breaking the bank.

Using my everday dinnerware and table linens
I have created a setting that looks special for Christmas, but not too formal.

Still inviting and casual.

I look forward to sharing the details on how it all came together.

Click here to see how I created the tablescape with Goodwill finds

along with some tips on thrift shopping for dinnerware.

Thanks for visiting.

  1. Lovely dining room. My CHristmas decor is what I've used for years. In fact, my manger scene is about 17 years old and I still love it. I also use what I already have and every year it always seems to look a little different than the year before. Thanks for sharing your lovely home.

  4. Sarah, love all your red festive touches! You have such a nice touch! Do I spy rosemary as one of your greens? I'll have to incorporate mine into Christmas decorating this year.
