Today's before and after is a bathroom that belongs to the sweetest three year old boy, Jack.
Jack's family just moved into this brand-spanking new home.
I had the honor of decorating his bathroom.

We started with a great brown and gray striped shower curtain from Target. From there we were able to pull together the new color scheme easily. The cool striped rug is also a Target find. I rarely shop the bath department for bathroom rugs. This one was actually found next to the door mats.
Jack loves sports. I shopped his toy box for the new bathroom accessories.
The cool sports prints are from a home decor warehouse in Utica, Michigan called Garden Ridge.
For the walls, I went with a subtle, large scale stripe.
You can find a step by step tutorial on painting stripes here. I used Sherwin Williams paint, Lazy Gray for the base color and Morning Fog for the accent color. These colors are next to each other on the paint swatch deck. The subtle difference creates a quiet tone-on-tone effect.
Jack's books and stuffed animal are not only cute accessories but also at arms reach for bedtime baths.
The satin nickel jars, shower hooks and soap toothbrush holder are a high-end looking collection from Target.
Here is a secret bathroom decorating tip,
If one shower curtain is good...
...two is better.
Hope you like your new bathroom, Jack.
Thanks for letting me invade your toy room and steal your stuff!
I look forward to sharing more of this beautiful home soon!
You Inspire me! This is a great makeover! :)

The BEST is Yet To Come DESIGNS
Two shower curtains...why haven't I ever thought of that? The store bought shower curtains are so skimpy. Two is great!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful! Love the colors you chose!
ReplyDeleteGreat tips - shop the door mats, use two shower curtains. I always learn from you. :)
ReplyDeleteBrilliant shower curtain idea!
ReplyDeleteNice that gray has made a come-back after a million years. In school I never liked it. Goes with most everything these days.
Where can I purchase 3 of the little doggies? For triplets!!!

It looks amazing. I came home from my work trip and Jack took me upstairs and said, "mom, look at my awesome bathroom!" Great work Sarah Macklem.
ReplyDeleteThis bathroom looks terrific! I like to use curtain panels tied back, one on each side with a valance - then a shower liner.. just makes the bathroom look so much more luxurious.
ReplyDeleteI love the shelves! Where did you find them?
ReplyDeleteSimply divine! Love it all! I love your tween bedroom makeover too. We are in process of doing that for my daughter and have decided to feature her little fluff too. She's excited and even more so when she saw your photos. Keep up the awesome work. LOVE YOUR BLOG! :)
ReplyDeleteI love this! I have two boys, 13 and 4 and I just couldn't come up with something I could make work for both of them but this is it! Great job!
ReplyDeleteCute makeover!
ReplyDeleteI'm trying to decide if I want this for my kids bath. I'm looking for the perfect blue/gray shade, not too dark, and more gray than blue. Does this color morning fog fit that? I have the color swatch in hand and it looks a little blue, but in your pic it looks completely gray.
ReplyDeleteAdorable!!! Can I ask what paint colors you used?
ReplyDeleteDid you sew the 2 shower curtains together? Love the look.
