This morning I'm heading out for an on-site room makeover installation.  On-site install days are like Christmas morning.  Even though I don't get to keep it, delivering a brand new room is so exciting.

Here is a little sample of the design I'm installing today...

The space is a fantastic transitional style home office/library.  The makeover includes amazing custom woodworking, gorgeous new furnishings and fun accessories.

I can't wait to put the final touches on the space...

more importantly, I can't wait to share it with you.

I'm excited to announce that I will be available for new client projects beginning January 1st, 2013.  Please be sure to check back for details on how to reserve your consultation.  On-site design consults will be available for local clients and online design consults for non-local clients.

Now, for today's "Ask Me A Question" series...
This series is a way for me to address some of the most frequently asked general design questions.

This weeks most FAQ's were...

Q:  "What is the paint color in your...?"
A:  One of the most frequently asked questions I receive pertains to paint colors at The Yellow Cape Cod.  Under the main menu "My Home" tab, I have listed the paint colors throughout my home.  You can click on the giant paint can to view the color/brands by room (or just click here).

Q: "Where did you get your...?"
A: Black living room tables...Potterybarn.  Foyer coat rack...Ballard Designs.  Master bedroom candle sconces...JCPenney.  Dining room buffet...thrift store find.  Dining room drapes...Restoration Hardware...Media unit...Ethan Allen.

Q:  "A year after painting your tile grout, how does it look?  Has it held up?"
A:  Yes.  It looks great.  I have had no issues with chipping or discoloration.  It still looks bright and clean.  My cleaning service uses a solution of water and vinegar to clean it.
