Two Day Makeover~Day Two

Welcome back to my Two Day Makeover Series!  In these posts I will take you through a recent room makeover beginning to end.  This project began as a typical online design plan project for Brian and Heidi's nursery.  Until I decided to fly to Denver to install the room, all by myself (no painters, carpenters or design assistants) in just two days (which is where the "challenge" comes in).

The second day was a little crazy.  The mural project absorbed most of day one which left everything else for day two.  Not only did I need to finish the room, but I also had to shop for a new lamp (the sleeping bag was cute, but not quite as functional).

I wasted no time installing drapes, hanging artwork and staging accessories.

My trip to the store became little frantic.  We didn't know our way around town and relied solely on my GPS.  We ended up in a traffic jam that set us way back.  I learned that my go-to discount home stores are not quite the same in Denver as they are in Michigan when it comes to their lamp selection.

I'll admit that I broke a sweat at one point thinking that we may not have cute lamp for the reveal.  I was faced with the option to ditch my efforts to find a lamp or ditch my closet painting project that still needed to be completed.

That was when the Heavens shined a light over our traffic jam onto a Bed Bath and Beyond.  Score.
I had just enough time to finish painting the closet.

We had a only few minutes to sit and enjoy our hard work before Brian and Heidi came home for the reveal.  We were still covered in paint when they arrived.

  1. I can already tell it's going to be wonderful ! I need to just bite the bullet and hire you to transform my very blank office/retail space. And if you wanted to "surprise" me for a reveal you would only have to drive to the West side of the state, Haha ! I love what you do !
