My Home Featured in Better Homes and Gardens Christmas Ideas Magazine

You will have to forgive me if I start sharing Christmas posts early this year.  You may remember last year, I had the incredible opportunity to have my home photographed for Better Homes and Gardens Christmas Ideas Magazine.  As part of this amazing experience, I agreed not to show any of my Christmas decor on the blog so that BHG could share it exclusively in a six page spread.

Just so you're warned, I have some major Christmas blogging excitement pent up in here.
Twenty four months worth.

In case you missed it, the issue hit newsstands in the beginning of October, 2013 and is available through the end of November.  My story titled "A Classic Tale" can be found on pages 98-103.

It was so hard to have so much decorating going on behind the scenes of the blog and not be able to share it with you guys. One example, our mantle featuring my favorite Ballard Designs Stockings has been shown on the blog every year since the beginning of The Yellow Cape Cod.  To mix things up a bit, I decided to incorporate different stockings in the mantle display for the BHG shoot.  I searched and searched for something that could match the personality of my Ballard stockings.

I found an Etsy shop, South House Designs with an amazing selection of stockings with vintage lace and button details that were just perfect.  I was so excited after my photo shoot to learn that Diane of South House Designs was asked by BHG to create stockings and a tree skirt for the cover.  Page 41 of the magazine even provides a free sewing pattern if you would like to make them yourself.

You'll have to grab a copy of the magazine to see which stockings I chose.

This experience was so cool.  BHG Christmas Ideas Magazine is my all time favorite source of holiday decorating inspiration.  Some of my favorite home bloggers also appear in the publication, you don't want to miss what they have shared.  Nester from The Nester, Michelle from Sweet Somethings Designs, Tracy from Flea Market Trixie, and Maria from Dreamy Whites to name a few.

This issue is only available until December 1st so grab your copy quick!
Thank you for all the sweet messages/emails from those of you who have seen the article.
