Speaking of Online Design Projects, today's post is devoted to an online design plan we just finished up for our client, Antonietta.

Antonietta and her young family have lived in their home for just over a year. She came to us for a custom design plan for her family room. She wanted a design that was not only functional for her busy family, but also beautiful and stylish. She already had a great start on the space with a brand new, large, comfortable, leather sectional sofa, a pretty tv console and coordinating coffee table. The rest was up to us.
We started by providing her with this true-to-scale floorplan illustration that shows her where all the items we put in her design plan should be placed in the room.
We recommended a gorgeous neutral gray/greige paint color palette that will be carried through the entire main level of her home.
We selected a large area rug to cozy up her gleaming hardwood floors. We incorporated custom drapery to draw attention to a gigantic picture window.
We decided the fireplace would be the main focal point in the space. We chose accessories that were dramatically large in scale including a four foot diameter clock. By using large scale elements, we were able to keep the look simple, but eye catching.
We added a pair of compact accent chairs that not only provide additional seating, but also cozy up the furniture arrangement. We selected the West Elm Veronica chair in a gorgeous custom striped upholstery fabric.
Speaking of getting cozy, we added a custom mix of toss pillows and knit throws to the large, chocolate brown leather sectional sofa. This added both color and texture to this large piece, and the light fabrics provided a sense of light in this otherwise dark area of the room.
Antonietta has a very pretty, dark brown tv console that houses a huge flatscreen tv. To make this element of the room more of a feature, I suggested that she copy this image I found on Pinterest. I love how the simple frames look above the tv. This will give this wall height and and interest without competing with the large tv screen.
Here is a look at a collage of some of the illustrations we created as part of this design plan to help Antonietta visualize how the space will come together using the items we selected for her...
