Navy Gray and Tan Sunroom

Today, I am back to continue with my month-long series featuring some of our most recent design projects. My client in this project received her Online Design Consultation Package with us as a gift from her daughter. The goal in this design was to give a bright, beautiful sun room in Mom's home a new look.

Here is a peek at the design we created...

Before I share the details of some of the design elements we incorporated, here is a look at the True to Scale Floor Plan Illustration we provided to show our client where to place everything in her design plan...

This furniture layout creates dramatic, eye-pleasing symmetry. I have used this arrangement in other sun room design projects and love how peaceful and calming a symmetrical, light filled space feels. (Here is an example of a sun room I designed using a similar layout).

The slight challenge we had creating a symmetrical furniture arrangement in this space, was that the client needed to have a flat screen TV incorporated into the room. The solution we came up with was a corner media console. This allowed us to place the TV in the corner where it can be viewed by all of the seating areas, yet still create the perfectly balanced layout.

The furniture we chose is gorgeous set from West Elm. It has a sophisticated profile along with all the comfort our client requested for afternoon naps.

The upholstery we chose is a nice, charcoal gray. To give the room a little color and to brighten the dark upholstery, we recommended this gorgeous pillow collection from Etsy for her to choose pillows from.

The pillows tie the neutral/tan wall colors we recommended (Balanced Beige and Agreeable Gray) in with the gray furniture and navy blue accents used throughout the space.

The area rug we placed in the design helps to anchor the seating arrangement. It is a bold, navy and tan patterned rug that is intended for indoor/outdoor use. Indoor/outdoor rugs are a perfect choice for a sun room as they are fade resistant.

On the large wall (the only wall without windows) we placed two large canvas paintings. Using a set of two mimics the shape of the windows on the remaining walls and helped us to create that sense of symmetry. This particular canvas is a stunning piece with a gorgeous color palette that is perfect for our design.

Some of the accent pieces we chose are a pair these navy gourd lamps and a large, cement bowl of succulents as the coffee table centerpiece.

These are just some of the design elements we recommended for this project. As with all our design plans, we gave our client recommendations for everything she needs to create a complete, custom, room that she will love for years.

Thank you for stopping by! Lots more projects in this series to come!
