Today, I'd like to share the results of a refresh I recently completed in our Master Bedroom. While it didn't need a complete overhaul by any means, it had been a while since I'd updated this space. I was ready for some changes.
Here are some photos of the space before I started my refresh...
To brighten the space, I gave the gray and blue tray ceiling a fresh coat of white paint and swapped out the gray curtains for soft white drapery panels.
I simplified the bedding by removing the decorative pillows and replacing them with one extra long lumbar pillow. I reduced the number of accents and accessories to achieve a clean, streamlined look that feels peaceful at the end of a busy day.
The furniture in this room was a budget friendly set we purchased when we got married. I'm still very happy with the quality of the dressers and nightstands. They are in great shape and the scale of each piece is perfect for our room. So, instead of replacing the set, I hired a friend who happens to be a Professional Painter (Andi Barber, Michigan) to give it a new look with black paint and new hardware.
Andi used Sherwin Williams Tricorn Black Paint, high quality brushes and her expertise & experience in application to achieve a flawless, durable finish that will look beautiful for years to come.
I brought in an eye-catching, over-scaled headboard for drama. I decided I wanted to upgrade from a queen to a king sized bed so I had to part with my sleigh bed. I found a huge oak headboard on Facebook Marketplace for $100 that I knew would be a stunner painted black.
A new rug, overhead lighting and a cozy reading chair finish off my bedroom refresh.
